First of four open town hall forums held in Victoria, BC



The Council of the City of Victoria, BC opened their doors the evening of Thursday, July 6, 2019 frpm 6:30pm to 8:30pm for the first of a series of four town hall forums to provide any member of the public an opportunity to address Council on any issue.


Those wishing to speak were asked to complete a request form in advance and were advised that they have a maximum of 5 minutes to address the Council.


The Council plans to hold these open forums annually.


The city says the meetings are in response to increasing requests from the public for facetime with councillors. 


Subsequent sessions scheduled for later in the year will be guided by themes such as accessibility


The city is also offering free childminding services to increase accessibility for busy parents.
